The universal theme for the 2012 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is:
"We Will All Be Changed by the Victory of Our Lord Jesus Christ."

On behalf of the Christian Unity Ministry at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, I would like to thank all the choirs and singers, the pastors, and the people who came to this ecumenical prayer and praise event.
In particular, I would like to thank

ELCA Bishop Emeritus Lavern Franzen who came from Tampa to open the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity;
Catholic Bishop Felipe Estevez of the Diocese of St. Augustine who came to close the Third Flagler Churches Together in Prayer and Song;
Pastor Pam Northrup of St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church who was the homilist at the event;
Rev. Dr. Bradley Hauff of St. Thomas Episcopal Church for conducting the Ecumenical Evensong at his church on Thursday, January 19, and for leading the Litany for Unity at the Third Flagler Churches Together in Prayer and Song;
Rev. Alberto Esposito, pastor of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, Flagler Beach, for hosting the Third Flagler Churches Together in Prayer and Song, and for the parish staff and volunteers who helped us out in this event.

The 2012 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity was observed in Flagler County from Sunday, January 15 to Sunday, January 22, 2012. This year, we were blessed with two esteemed guests of honor:

The Most Reverend Felipe de Jesus Estevez, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine, FL, and
The Most Reverend Lavern Franzen, Bishop Emeritus of the Florida Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).

All churches were encouraged to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in their own way, and open their doors at least one day that week to the whole community.
Kickoff Events by our Guest of Honor, Bishop Lavern Franzen, on Saturday, January 14, Sunday, January 15, and Monday, January 16.
Saturday, January 14, 2012: Bishop Franzen spoke at Saturday 5 PM Mass at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church
Sunday, January 15, 2012: Bishop Franzen spoke at the 9 AM and 11:30 AM Sunday Masses at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church;
Sunday, January 15, 2012, 8 AM and 10 AM at the First (AME) Church of Palm Coast: Services Honoring The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. : Rev. Gillard Glover, Pastor.
Monday, January 16, 2012, 11 AM, Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Pine Lakes Parkway. The New York City Transit Retirees of Florida, chapter 2, Palm Coast, will have its annual Ecumenical Service in honor of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Janice Jacob is the keynote speaker.
Monday, January 16, 2012, at 6:30 PM: Bishop Franzen's address along the theme of Christian Unity at St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church, 303 Palm Coast Parkway, NE, Palm Coast.
Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at 6 PM: An Ecumenical Evensong (Vespers) at St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Palm Coast, with participation by local clergy and laity.
